Japan’s January ethylene output spikes by over 33% on robust demand from China

 Plastemart cited, Japanese ethylene production jumped 33.7 in January 2010 vs January 2009, in line with healthy demand from China. Ethylene output totalled 670,100 tons last month, up from 501,300 tons a ago as per the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The export volume of ethylene soared 45.1% to 233,200 tons in December from a year earlier. The January export figures have not yet been released. Ethylene is used to produce polyethylene in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, which is then exported to China
